No matter how old you are, nobody wants to have sagging breasts, I know I didn't, (even if they were little bitties), they’re heavy, they’re uncomfortable, and they just don’t look good. Fortunately, there is a way to eliminate sagging breasts: breast lifts. Whether your breasts have been altered by pregnancy, weight loss, or simply the passage of time, a breast lift can give your sagging breasts an injection of youth by raising them up and making them firm.
While there are a variety of approaches our Dominican doctors can take when performing a breast lift, the best approach for you will depend on the condition of your breasts and on your individual goals. Since each technique has its distinct advantages, it’s important to be familiar with the options you have before making a decision.
Here are four of the most common breast lift options used today.
The Lollipop Lift
As with all of the procedures listed here, the lollipop lift takes its name from the shape of the incision made
in the breast. With this technique, a circular incision is made around the entire areola, followed by a single straight incision from the bottom edge of the areola down to the breast crease, or where the breast meets the torso.
The oldest of the breast lift options, this approach is ideal for correcting a moderate amount of sagging,
and for women who are not interested in combing a breast lift with breast implants.
The Anchor Lift
The anchor lift is the incision for women with severe sagging, the incision you need when less invasive procedures just won’t get the job done. Only slightly different than the lollipop lift, the anchor lift involves an additional horizontal incision along the breast crease.
Often combined with breast reduction surgery to reduce the volume and reshape the contours of the breasts, this approach is the choice for women who need a major lift.
The Donut Lift
Intended for women with moderate to mild breast sagging, the donut lift is a fairly non-invasive procedure which involves a single circular incision around the areola. (I was so tired of being apart of the itty bitty titty committee, lol) this technique repositions the areola and nipple higher on the breast while simultaneously tightening the breast skin, leaving me with no scar under the breast.
The donut lift can be combined with implants to effectively increase breast size and reduce sagging, even when sagging is fairly pronounced. I had 475cc Gummie implants placed.
The Crescent Lift
Even less invasive than the donut lift is the crescent lift, a technique which only involves a semi-circular incision along the top half of the areola. Likely to be recommended only to remedy the mildest cases of sagging, (which none of our docs are going to recommend because when you are seeking us you are looking to knock those jugs out the park!) The crescent lift is usually performed alongside breast augmentation. It’s perfect for making minor adjustments to the nipple and areola.
